How much does graduate school cost? Is financial aid available?

Educational expenses will vary according to your personal needs and chosen course of study with Texas A&M University at Galveston. Please consult the resources below for information about costs and financial support.

Tuition Calculator

Our Tuition Calculator will help you estimate the cost of tuition and required fees per semester for graduate study.

  • When using the calculator, please select the Graduate tab
  • Use the slider to adjust for the number of hours you plan to take each semester. Keep in mind that full-time study is 9 credit hours in the fall/spring semester and 6 credit hours in the summer semester.
  • Please note that students in the Maritime Business Administration and Logistics program (MMAL) and students in the Marine Resources Management Program (MMRM) will have additional program fees listed under the calculator total
Estimated Cost of Attendance

The Financial Aid office’s Estimated Cost of Attendance provides more information about the cost of graduate study per academic year. Each item on the estimate is explained below.

  • Tuition and Fees: The average cost of tuition and fees for a typical student based on enrolling for 18 hours per year, based on 9 hours per semester of graduate course work. The actual costs that a student incurs will vary depending on the student’s degree program.
  • Loan Fees: The estimated fee associated with taking out student loans.
  • Housing & Meals: A reasonable estimate of what it would cost to live in Galveston while attending school. Actual costs may vary by individual choices related to location and circumstances. Typically includes rent, food, snacks, household supplies and utilities.
  • Books & Supplies: The average cost of books and supplies for a typical student for an entire academic year. Typically includes books, educational supplies, course materials, and computer-related expenses excluding the purchase of a personal computer.
  • Travel: Represents travel to and from family's residence and transportation costs to and from class and work (e.g., bus fare, gasoline, tolls, parking).
  • Personal Expenses: Estimate of costs for clothing, haircuts, entertainment, and other miscellaneous expenses. What you actually spend on these types of items may be higher or lower depending on your own lifestyle.
