December Texas A&M Maritime Academy Residence Hall Construction Update

December 18, 2024

Good afternoon.

Congratulations on completing your fall 2024 semester! You have all demonstrated that true Aggie grit, overcoming challenges and embracing opportunities this semester, and I’m proud of each of you. You’ve got this, Ags! I hope your holiday break allows you to rest, replenish and spend time with your loved ones.

The Texas A&M Maritime Academy Residence Hall construction project is proceeding as previously communicated, and one-time refunds were issued in October. Given the ongoing construction, Texas A&M Maritime Academy Residence Hall residents will receive a 5% discount on your spring 2025 resident hall rate until the project is complete. This discount will be applied to your spring 2025 bill. If you have questions about your refund, please contact Campus Living and Learning.

The project's second phase, which includes temporary measures to seal the building exterior, continues to progress and is nearly complete. We are on track to move forward with the third and final phase – permanent interior and exterior restoration – as soon as next summer. For those students who elected to delay the installation of temporary flooring during the semester, that work will be completed in the next few days.

Thank you again for your patience and understanding throughout this process. You will continue to receive regular communications from me and can stay up to date, connect with campus resources and share feedback through the project status webpage. I also encourage you to share this communication with your support network to ensure they have signed up to receive regular email updates.

Thank you for choosing to be here and sharing your feedback with us. We can’t wait to see you back on campus this spring.

Sincerely,
MEF
