Neil E. Golemo, M.S.Ed.
Director of Campus Living & Learning

Neil E. Golemo has been with Texas A&M University at Galveston since 2006 and has served as the Director of Campus Living & Learning since the Fall of 2014. During his tenure, he has seen the professional staff grow from one Masters level and live-on professional to five Masters level professionals with three living on-campus. The Campus Living & Learning Student Staff program has grown from twelve Resident Assistants, to over twenty Community Leaders and ten Company Commanders. The campus community has grown from three Residence Halls and six-hundred beds to seven Residence Halls with over 1600 beds. Mr. Golemo has been involved in many committees such as chairing the Residence Hall recommendation steering committee and assisting with the development of the TAMUG Honors Curriculum. These things along with many programs such as Halloween Howl, Campus Preview and Gig ‘Em Week have all grown during his time at Texas A&M University at Galveston. Mr. Golemo earned his B.A. in Speech Communications at Baylor University in 2004, his M.S.Ed. in Higher Education Administration from Baylor University in 2006, and is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in Higher Education from Texas A&M University, hoping to finish in 2023.

 





Marlee J. Williams

Marlee J. Williams came to the TAMUG Campus Living & Learning in March of 2014. She graduated with an Associate of Arts degree from Galveston College. Prior to her joining TAMUG she had 15 years of Executive Assistant experience. She enjoys the beach, traveling and working with the students at TAMUG to ensure their success.

Buzz Refugio joined the Campus Living & Learning team in November 2018 but has been with Texas A&M University at Galveston since February 2015. Prior to his arrival, he served as Dean of Student Services for the San Angelo campus of Howard College.  Before that, he spent 15 years on the main campus of Texas A&M University where he served in a wide range of positions over time including advising, staff development/staff training, admissions, financial aid, residence life (Corps Housing), logistics and operations, student conduct/student discipline, and student leadership. He received his Bachelor of Science in Recreation, Park & Tourism Sciences from Texas A&M University and is a proud member of the Fightin’ Texas Aggie Class of 1994.  In 2012, he received his Master of Education in Student Development & Leadership from Angelo State University.  Buzz currently serves as advisor to the TAMUG Auxiliary University Program, TAMUG Student Veterans Association, and the Future Military Leaders.  He is an active supporter of The Association of Former Students and the Corps of Cadets Association.  

 





Sarah E. Schendzelos, M.Ed.

Sarah (West) Schendzelos started her TAMUG Campus Living & Learning Staff experience in the summer of 2014. She received her bachelors and masters from Oklahoma State University. Sarah has worked in a wide range of student affairs job titles throughout her undergraduate and master degree. During her time here at Texas A&M Galveston, she has worked as a Housing Coordinator who supervised Oceans, Hullabaloo and Pacific Hall as well as Summer Camps and Conferences. Sarah now works as an Assistant Director for Campus Living & Learning where she oversees Residential Education, Housing Coordinators and Camps and Conferences. Sarah has a life long love of the water and truly loves being a part of the Aggie family.

 





Carrie I. Rowland, M.A.

Carrie Rowland joined the TAMUG Campus Living & Learning team in the summer of 2018.  Before beginning her professional career in Galveston, she graduated from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Master of Arts in Higher Education: College Student Affairs.  Carrie is also a licensed secondary science educator and enjoys connecting with the unique student body here at TAMUG through teaching opportunities both inside and outside of the classroom.  Her primary interests in higher education are the personal development of students alongside mentorship, curriculum design, and living and learning communities.   

 





Marishika K. Wright, M.Ed.

Marishika Wright joined the TAMUG Campus Living & Learning team in January 2019. Prior to moving to Texas from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Marishika obtained her Bachelor of Science Degree in Liberal Studies Communications from Clarion University of Pennsylvania, and her Master of Education Degree in Student Affairs Higher Education Administration from Kutztown University of Pennsylvania. Her prior work and focuses were in Student Leader Development, Retention & Recruitment, and Multicultural Affairs.

 





Alexander H. Chandler, M.S.

Alexander Chandler joined the TAMUG Campus Living & Learning team at the end of December 2018. Before arriving to Galveston, he spent time working as leadership in retail. Alex holds a Bachelors from University of the Ozarks and a Master of Science in College Student Personnel Administration from Arkansas Tech University. He has served valuable time in many areas of Higher Education and Student affairs including: Advising, Student and Residence Life, Campus Activities, and Teaching. He is interested in gaining more insight into areas of LLCs & First Year Experience. Alexander is excited about the adventures that await him at Texas A&M and helping students gain an experience not only in the classroom, but outside of it. He and his wife welcomed their first baby in the summer of 2019.
