Campus Amenities

Our campus provides the following services and opportunities in order to help our students feel more at home in their residence hall!

Campus Necessities

Internet
Internet

Our campus provides ethernet and wireless internet through MyResNet.  MyResNet is a residential network provided by Boldyn Networks to provide residence with reliable, high-speed access and 24/7 customer support. The Basic Plan is designed for TAMUG students at no additional charge-providing the 10+ Mbps of download speed. Students also have the option to upgrade for additional services for a fee.  Students may begin signing up for their account after they arrive for Move-In weekend. You will need your school email, room number, along with other basic information to complete your set up.

Students are NOT permitted set up their own wireless network or bring wireless routers to campus, as it may ruin the connection for others. For further information about computing on campus contact our Information Technology Department at (409) 740-4714.

Cable/Coax Television Services were dropped in the Fall of 2025 for lack of use and student demand.

Kitchen
Kitchen
Kitchen facilities, including a oven, stove, microwave, sink and countertops, are available on the first floors of Atlantic, Pacific, and TAMMAH.  All residential students are welcome to use these spaces.
Laundry
Laundry
Laundry facilities are available on the first floor of every residence hall. Washers and dryers are free-use (a nominal laundry fee is included in the student fees paid each year). Students may track the availability of laundry machines via the Laundry View website.
Maintenance Requests
Maintenance Requests

All requests for maintenance service (whether a light bulb needs changing or your shower won't drain) should be made directly at one of our residence hall front desks in Atlantic, Pacific, or TAMMA Halls.  DO NOT give maintenance requests directly to maintenance staff because they cannot act upon direct requests. NOTE: Any repairs resulting from damage by the resident can be billed to the resident.

Facilities Services works to address each concern as soon as possible. Work orders are addressed in the order of urgency. Staff may enter a room to make repairs without residents being present in the room.

Students who need to use a plunger may contact Campus Living & Learning or a Community Leader to borrow a plunger.

Emergency problems which occur when Campus Living & Learning is closed should be reported to an on-duty Community Leader by calling (409)740-5525 (24-hours a day.)

Room and Equipment Reservations
Room and Equipment Reservations

Residents may reserve spaces such as the Media Pit by contacting Campus Living & Learning. Reservations for the Media Pit may be made up to one week in advance. Priority for this space will be given to staff hosting public events. Reservations may only be made for hours when Campus Living & Learning is open not to exceed more than 3 hours of use at a time.

Student groups and University offices may reserve the group study room for specific purposes approved by Campus Living & Learning. Parking On Campus
Parking On Campus
If you’re planning on bringing your personal vehicle to campus, you will need to purchase a Student Permit from Parking Services. For more information about prices and how to purchase your pass, please visit https://www.tamug.edu/police/Campus_Regulations/Prkng_Permits.html or call University Police at (409)740-4545.

While Texas A&M University's Galveston Campus has enjoyed notable safety and freedom from bad actors, no campus will ever be completely free of the bad choices of others. We highly recommend every Aggie helps themselves and others by making it difficult to make a poor choice and take all reasonable precautions to secure any and all valuables within their vehicles by storing them out of sight, locking all doors, closing all windows, and securing all items on vehicle racks or truck beds with sturdy locks and secured boxes. University PD do regularly patrol and the University does security cameras across campus.  If you suspect the worst, immediately contact University PD at 409.740.4545 or call 911 for emergency situations.

Partnerships

College Products: MicroChill

Micro Chill

College Products is a dynamic company that specializes in partnering directly with student housing departments at colleges and universities across the nation providing products to help students turn their rooms into HOMES.   We supply patented steel lofting systems that allow students to loft their beds without taking school provided furniture out of the room.  College Products carries the MicroChill® brand (MicroChill) of compact fridge/freezers and fridge/freezer/microwave combo units.  We also carry an auxiliary line of products:  Big Hoss™ futons and QuicKey™ personal safes (meeting a fast-growing need across many college campuses).

MicroChill® refrigerator/freezers and certified combination appliances are eco-friendly, and that’s just one of the many reasons why we at College Products love them!  In 2014 MicroChill® was the first company with compact units designed specifically for college students to introduce to the market an eco-friendly unit that uses all natural refrigerant (R600a).  MicroChill® has been leading the way by possessing the most energy efficient units on the market.  This year is no different, MicroChill® announced that their kWh rating has dropped yet again!  Operating at 199 kWh and pulling just 0.39 amps to run, these units continue to be industry leaders in energy efficiency.  College Products provides sales, school lease and student rental options for these appliances, with programs that are customized to your needs!

Why is a combination appliance such a great option for your halls?  When students bring units from home, they tend to be purchased from a big box store (far from efficient in their energy consumption) and then each separate appliance is plugged into an outlet in the room.  Couple those appliances with all of the other electronics the students bring such as TVs, computers, printers, gaming systems, and more; think of how much energy this draws from each room!  Combination appliances were designed specifically to combat this issue, making your residence halls more energy efficient.

Personal Property (Renter's) Insurance

Students should be aware that like any residential facility, at times pipes break, air conditioners may go out, or other facility maintenance-related concerns may arise. Students are responsible for the condition of their personal property. Texas A&M University at Galveston recommends students purchase their own renter's insurance policy if other family insurance policies (such as a home-owner's policy) does not cover the student property.  Residence Hall Rules indicate the University does not assume responsibility at any time for the private property of students and is not liable for the loss or damage of any article of personal property anywhere on the premises.

We strongly recommend to students that you buy personal property, or renter's, insurance to protect the personal valuables brought to campus.  Check with your parents to see if you are already covered through current insurance policies before purchasing your own.  There are several resources available to students to protect their personal property for a low cost, some even as low as $7/month.

Additionally, students are responsible for any damage to University property in their assigned residence hall room and should make sure to return all University property to the same or better condition it was in upon the student's move-in to the residence hall room.
