The Power of Offshore Wind on the Texas Gulf Coast
Event Date: September 15, 2025
Event Location: Texas A&M University at Galveston, Waterfront Pavilion, 200 Seawolf Parkway, Galveston, TX 77554
Event Time: Event Time: 9:30 - 3:00 PM CT (Registration at 9:00 AM)
The technical potential exists to produce enough offshore wind energy in the Gulf to meet 166% of Texas’ current electricity demand. Results from a recent Texas A&M University-Galveston poll found that 71% of Texans support development of offshore wind off the Texas coast.
With robust expertise in offshore energy development, Texas businesses are already supporting the offshore wind supply chain, and the state is well positioned to establish itself as a leader in offshore wind energy production. Offshore wind can help Texas meet the rising demand for energy, provide job opportunities, and do so in an environmentally responsible way that establishes clear protections for wildlife and habitat.
This forum will bring together leaders from the business, energy and environmental sectors and the Galveston community to discuss the outlook for offshore wind in the Gulf- its benefits and challenges. The forum is free to attend. However, space is limited, so please register now. We will serve lunch, and free parking will be available in Lot N305.
We hope that you can join us.
