Spring Commencement Ceremony

Graduates should arrive no later than 8:30 a.m. and report to the robing room for degree candidates. Stage Party and faculty members should arrive no later than 8:30 a.m.

Signage will be posted at the venue to identify degree candidate and faculty robing areas.

Your commencement ceremony is just around the corner and there are important details you, your family, and friends should know.

Cap, Gown, Hood – Caps, gowns, and hoods should be ordered at the TAMUG Bookstore with the exception of cadets who are receiving their US Navy Commission or US Coast Guard License, who will wear the appropriate uniform.

All graduate students, including cadets, will need to order a hood from the bookstore and bring it to Student Enrollment Services in MAIN First Floor before 5pm Thursday, May 7, 2020.

Invitations can be purchased through the TAMUG Bookstore.

Guest seating

The doors will be opened for guests one hour before the start of the ceremony. Seating is available first-come, first-serve. Large groups may want to arrive earlier to find their seats.

Services for Disabled or Mobility-Impaired Guests

Wheelchair space and seating for mobility-impaired guests are both available on a first-come, first-served basis. There are handicap parking spaces available. Ushers will be able to direct you to the appropriate seating area.  Wheel chairs are generally not available at the venue.

Ceremony Length

Commencement ceremonies vary from one hour up to two and half hours. Although visitors may leave their viewing area at anytime,  guests are asked to respect the other graduates by staying for the entire ceremony.  Graduates are required to remain for the entire ceremony.

The committee is responsible for coordinating and staging the fall, spring, and summer commencement events.

Dr. Patrick Louchouarn, Executive Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs & CAO (TAMUG), and Associate Provost (TAMU) is responsible for committee oversight.
