Get To Know Patrick Joseph Gillespie

What in your life drew you to your current field of study?

I accepted a military billet down at this institution as an active-duty member in the Navy teaching in the Naval Science Department at Texas A&M University at Galveston. During my duty teaching I really enjoyed instructing the students on real life experiences and wanted to teach as a career.

What do you hope your students gain from studying or working with you?

I hope my students retain after taking my classes a better understanding of professionalism through instruction and a more well-rounded sense of how to treat your peers, allowing the crew to mesh and work better together through teamwork.

What are you passionate about in your personal life?

I am passionate about taking care of my family, my kids, and helping students become better well-rounded individuals both professionally and personally.
