The Department of Marine Engineering Technology has the right faculty with a wealth of industry experience to give students the proper knowledge and skills that they will need in order to be successful.  Due to the industry’s perpetual evolution, skills and the knowledge of how to learn are heavily emphasized.   Because of the proximity of the campus to the Gulf of Mexico, this approach is coupled with hands-on experiences in simulators, labs, and on board ships that are heavily utilized to teach students in unforgettable ways.

Because TAMUG is a part of the greater Texas A&M Network, there are a host of study abroad opportunities.  Texas A&M actually has one of the largest study abroad programs in the country. Students are encouraged to dive into these opportunities which are some of the most exhilarating and rewarding experiences available in university life. Students will experience new cultures, learn from a different perspective, and meet life-long friends in these life-changing courses.
