The COVID-19 pandemic has dramatically changed the landscape of higher education by increasing the use of technology in course instruction. Just as we require all our students to have specific textbooks and supplies in order to gain the highest quality educational experience, there is a need for all students to have an appropriate computer to ensure they are able to fully participate in course work.
As a result of the changing landscape in higher education, Texas A&M University at Galveston now requires students to have access to an appropriate computer to complement course instruction.
Minimum computer specifications are listed below. Most computers purchased in the past few years should meet the minimum standards.
|Processor||Intel i5 8th Generation processor or equivalent|
|Memory||8 GB of RAM|
|Hard Drive||256 GB storage system|
|Screen Size||13 inch|
* Chromebooks and Android Tablets do not meet these minimum specifications and are not recommended.
