Hometown: Brock, Texas
Degrees: B.A. Maritime Studies - Texas A&M University at Galveston
Sports allegiances: Dallas Stars, Texas A&M, Atlanta Braves
Favorite Galveston spot: Gypsy Joynt for food, beach access 1C (the area west of Islander East) for the beach, and the Rosenberg Library for everything else.
Why did you become an academic coach? - I want to give back to the campus that helped me so much.
What is your favorite thing about the TAMUG experience?- How students are able to have the A&M experience without the College Station sizes. We still have the same traditions and resources that they have while having a smaller population, allowing students to have better academic and career opportunities.
What is your best advice for incoming students? - Don't be afraid to jump right in. Your first year of college, everyone is trying their best to keep their own lives together, so don't be afraid to put yourself out there. Even if Galveston isn't your end goal, having friends will help make college life more tolerable when classes get tough.
What do you do when you are not coaching students? - I love to do anything crafty; crochet and scrapbooking have been my recent favorites. I also am a big reader, I love to sit on the beach with a good book. If I am not crafting or reading, I am playing with my cats, Karma and Annie.
What else should students know about you? - I am here for you. I want to help you succeed, no matter where you are in your journey. My office is always open for you, and we can help solve any problem you may have.
