Why did you become an academic advisor?
I didn't necessarily set out to become an Academic Advisor...it sort of happened organically. I was a classroom teacher for 17 amazing years. I've taught children of all ages, from infants to seniors...and everything in between! While teaching at the high school, I quickly realized how much I enjoyed guiding my seniors through the next steps of their lives. And I was actually really good at it! Becoming an Academic Advisor was just the next logical step for me. Although I do miss being in the classroom, advising still allows me to pursue my greatest passions in life...working with kids and helping others!

What is your favorite thing about the TAMUG experience?
I love being a part of the big Aggie family, while having the benefit of the small-town, friendly campus atmosphere. At A&M Galveston, you get the best of both worlds!

What is your best advice for incoming students?
Make the most of your time here because it goes by fast. Work hard, play hard, get involved, and make new friends...you won't regret it!

What do you do when you are not advising?
I spend all my time hanging out with my family and traveling to College Station for every sporting event you can think of!

What else should students know about you?
I am here for you...my door is always open.
