Staff Appreciation Week

Our success at TAMUG is a direct result of the numerous and diverse contributions of our staff, day in and day out, most often behind the scenes. Universities like ours earn their stature in the world because of their people. To honor our staff, we are again hosting the Staff Appreciation Week at Texas A&M University at Galveston! Presented by the TAMUG Staff Council, Office of the Vice President, Human Resources, SSC Services for Education and Chartwells.

COO Colonel Fossum invites you to Save the Date: April 23 - 28, 2018

Remember to take photos during the week's events and tag them with #SAW2018 on social media and share them on the SAW Facebook Event page.

Creative Mental Health & Fitness Day

Unlock your creativity as we paint with Clay Cup Studios here on campus. Let’s relate this to the watching fish in an aquarium. The calmness and flow is simply so tranquil and soothing. Similarly when you paint, you go with the flow which easily relaxes your brain without much stress – transporting you to another world where only paint, brush strokes and color exist -leaving you feeling mentally clear and calm. There will be 3 sessions spread out over the day to accommodate various schedules. Each session is limited to 30 people and is on a first come, first serve basis. When details are released, be sure to RSVP early to secure your spot!  To read more about the health benefit claims of painting, visit http://goodrelaxation.com/2015/01/health-benefits-of-painting-and-drawing/

In addition on Friday, there will be a free fitness class, sand volleyball and open swim in the pool.  Come check it out!

Staff Emergency Fund

We have all experienced a sudden or unexpected expense that can create both emotional and financial obstacles.  The Staff Emergency Fund (SEF) helps Texas A&M Staff members who are unable to make ends meet during a difficult time.  By supporting the SEF, you can help make a difference, when help is needed most.

There will be opportunities to give at each of the SAW2017 events or you may want to sign up for an automatic payroll deduction by enrolling in the Lead by Example campaign.

Profit-share Events for SEF:

There will be local profit-share events at various local restaurants during the week!

100% of proceeds going to the Staff Emergency Fund.
