Outreach Programs
Texas A&M University at Galveston offers educational outreach programs to people of all ages.
Sea Camp is a week-long residential adventure exploring the wonders of the marine and estuarine environments for campers ages 10-18. As a Sea Camper you will have access to research vessels, oceanographic equipment, laboratory facilities, and a professional staff enabling you to learn about the ocean through hands-on experiences.
Sea Campus Kids is a marine oriented day program for campers ages 6-11. Campers will have their hands-on and feet-in as they wade through a salt marsh, visit a turtle hatchery, dissect a fish or seine in the surf.
Elderhostel is America’s first and the world’s largest educational travel organization for adults 55 and over. Elderhostel at Texas A&M University at Galveston is just one of many possible learning adventures offering fascinating topics, interesting & knowledgeable instructors, local experts, and hands-on opportunities. TAMUG offers additional outreach programs such as field trips, teacher workshops, and Adventures in Science (an after school program for local students).
Galveston Bay Information Center The Galveston Bay Information Center's (GBIC) mission is to serve as a repository for information and as a resource for research on Galveston Bay, its watershed, and the coastal region for all members of the Galveston Bay Community and anyone interested in the coastal community. GBIC provides a clearinghouse for information about this vital resource.
