Sea Campus Kids

Sea Campus Kids is a marine-oriented day program for campers ages 6-11.  Campers will have their hands-on and feet-in as they participate in activities such as wading through a salt marsh, dissecting a fish or seining in the surf.

*All registrations must be made online. We are no longer allowed to take registration over the phone, but we are more than happy to help walk you through it.

Half-Day Workshops: Monday-Thursday Ages 6-10

Morning Workshops: 8:00 a.m.-11:30 a.m.

Afternoon Workshops: 12:30 p.m.-4:00 p.m. 

Participants may register for the morning, afternoon, or both programs offered. Campers enrolled in morning and afternoon workshops will stay during lunch. 

Full-Day Workshops: Monday-Wednesday 9:00a.m.-3:00p.m.

3 Day Full Day Workshops will be split into two classes based on age. Ages 6-8 and Ages 9-11

Registration Fee: There is a $10 non refundable fee for registering your camper. This is due to a internal registration site fee. The $10 is deducted from the total camp balance. This fee is non-refundable.

Registration: A deposit of $30 is required to register for each workshop.

Cancellation and Final Payment: The deposit may be refunded or applied to another workshop up to four weeks prior to the start of the workshop by contacting the Sea Camp office to confirm the change.  Full payment and updated medical information is due four weeks prior to the start of the workshop.

Marine Biologist Boot Camp (9:00am-3:00pm) $220

Ages 6-8 | Ages 9-11

Fall in and join the ranks of scientists who investigate the inhabitants of the oceans. Study the art of dissecting and conduct scientific experiments. Enlistees will conduct experiments, record data, and report findings.

Megalodon Madness (morning) $ 195

Encounter myth and fact in this in-depth examination of the most fascinating and misunderstood fish in the ocean. Discover the history of ancient sharks like the Megalodon and uncover how they were like the sharks found today. Dive in hands-on to learn about internal shark anatomy and uncover various shark species.

Reef Inspectors (afternoon) $195

Become a Reef Inspector while exploring the lives of ocean creatures living side-by-side, such as sea anemones and clownfish. Inspection of our amazing coral reefs or “rainforests of the sea” will reveal the freeloaders, the scroungers, the cordial, the aloof, and the lethal!

Into the Blue – 3-Day Camp  $220

(Ages 6–11)

Get ready to dive deep into the world beneath the waves at Into the Blue, a 3-day marine biology adventure for curious young ocean explorers! Campers will discover what it’s like to be a real marine scientist as they go fishing, explore local waters with seine nets, and conduct a guided fish dissection to learn about anatomy and adaptations.

Throughout the camp, we’ll uncover the amazing diversity of ocean life — from tiny plankton and colorful fish to mighty sharks, playful marine mammals, and gentle sea turtles. Each day brings new discoveries and outdoor fun as campers connect with the ocean and learn how we can protect its incredible creatures.

Sea Squirts Workshops are designed with our smaller scientists in mind. Parents and children (4-5 years old) will discover and explore the marine environment together. Explorers will make discoveries in the Sea Squirt classroom, explore a salt marsh, and create a product reflecting their adventures in marine science.

Cardboard Boat Challenge – 3-Day Camp $220

(Ages 6–11)

Set sail on an adventure of creativity, teamwork, and engineering at the Cardboard Boat Challenge! During this exciting 3-day camp, young innovators will take on fun mini engineering challenges — like the classic egg drop test — before diving into the ultimate goal: designing and building their very own floating cardboard boat to test in the pool on the final day!

Campers will learn the basics of buoyancy, balance, and boat design as they sketch, plan, build, and problem-solve together. We'll head out on a real boat ride through the Galveston Ship Channel to see vessels of all shapes and sizes in action and get inspired for our own creations.

Deep Sea Disco (morning)  $195

Take a journey to uncover what lies beneath the ocean blue. Stargazer, oar, and lumpfish just to name a few. What lives so near to the surface it sees the sun shine like a disco ball and what lives in the midnight zone with a glow that can trick us all? With so much to learn, let's get into a groove and learn all about the deep sea!

Ins & Outs of Invertebrates (12:30pm-4:00pm) $195

With 95% of animals being invertebrates, we've got to have their backs! Through dissections, crabbing, and more, you will discover different types of invertebrates and their specific importance in their ecosystem.

Ocean Artists Camp – 3-Day Camp $220

Beginner Ages 6-8 | Advanced Ages 9-11

Dive into creativity this summer at Ocean Artists, a hands-on art camp where imagination meets the sea! Young artists will explore the wonders of ocean life and the natural world through a variety of fun, nature-inspired projects. Campers will experiment with fish printing, watercolor painting, air-dry clay, and creative crafts, all while discovering the beauty of marine life and our coastal environment.

Together, we’ll create a special group art project, make masterpieces outdoors, and let nature guide our creativity. Perfect for curious, creative kids who love the ocean, animals, and expressing themselves through art!

Anchors Away Sailors $220

Set sail with us for a week of high-seas adventure! Campers will step into the world of pirates, sailors, and legendary ships as they explore Galveston’s rich maritime past. From climbing aboard the historic Elissa tall ship to cruising through the Galveston Ship Channel on a real boat ride, every day brings a new discovery. We’ll uncover secrets of Galveston’s pirates, learn how sailors navigated the open ocean, and create nautical crafts inspired by life at sea. Grab your compass and hoist the sails—Anchors Away, Sailors is ready to chart a course for fun!

Marine Mammals  $220

Beginner Ages 6-8 | Advanced Ages 9-11

Investigate flukes and flippers, baleen and blowholes, and spy-hopping and breaching in the underwater world of marine mammals. Compare dolphins and porpoises, seals and sea lions, and baleen and toothed whales. Explore the adaptations of the polar bear and get to know the clever sea otter.
