InterLibrary Loan

We don't have the article or book that you're looking for?

No problem. We can issue an InterLibrary Loan request and get digital or physical materials delivered for your use. Review the following policies and procedures to ensure that your ILL request can be addressed as quickly as possible.

How It Works

Complete our InterLibrary Loan request form. While only some of the form fields are required, we encourage you to provide as much detail as possible. You may complete these form manually (by filling in the individual fields), or utilize the "Get it for me at TAMUG" button option within a catalog search. View the following video to see demonstrations of the two methods for completing the ILL form.

Requests for digital materials (such as journal articles or ebook chapters) are usually completed within 2-3 business days. Loan requests for physical items (books, printed manuscripts, etc.) require significantly more time. We ask that you allow 1-2 weeks for delivery of physical items requiring shipping and in-library processing. If you are requesting an article published prior to 1980, locating and processing the ILL request will take longer due to availability.

InterLibrary Loan requests may be made by any TAMUG student, faculty, or staff member. Note that ILL is a service conducted between libraries, rather than between libraries and individuals. We will procure the materials you request (if available) and process your loan internally.

  • We can not request or process loans for eBooks. We may be able to acquire digital copies of single eBook chapters upon request. Be as detailed as possible in your ILL request.
  • We do not request loans from international libraries. If your requested item is only available at a non-U.S. library, we will be unable to receive the item on your behalf.
  • Some ILL requests require payment from our library in order to complete shipping. We do not pay these ILL fees and if your item requires payment, we may be unable to successfully complete your request.

While digital ILL requests will be sent to the email address provided on the form, physical items need to be picked up from the Jack K. Williams Library in office from Jacqueline Salter in office #108. Contact Jacquline Salter ( to schedule an appointment for ILL pickups.
