Chemistry Prep Module    

The Chemistry Prep Module (CPM) is designed to ensure students have the algebra-based mathematics skills needed to succeed in their entry‑level chemistry coursework at Texas A&M University. Proper preparation for CHEM 119 is essential, as strong foundational skills greatly increase your chance of success in freshman chemistry.
The CPM is completed online through ALEKS and begins with a pre‑test. This initial assessment identifies which topics you need to strengthen, and the module then adapts to focus on those areas. All undergraduate students who plan to enroll in CHEM 119—including all incoming freshmen whose major requires CHEM 119—must complete at least 90% of the Chemistry Prep Module prior to registering for CHEM 119. Students should allow up to 24 hours for completion to appear in Howdy to academic advisors.
