Academic Support Services:

Services are offered for free in throughout Library to support your courses including Writing, Media, Subject Tutoring, Supplemental Instruction, and Research. Go to TutorTrac in your Howdy portal to view the schedule, make an appointment, and/or upload a document for your session. Call the Library Front Desk at (409) 740-4560 for assistance.

Hypermedia Lab

Video Consultants offer peer-to-peer writing counseling for audio recording, filming, media editing, presentation coaching, software, and storyboarding. Photography and videography equipment is available to check out for use on projects and presentations. Make an appointment with a Consultant and upload your presentation on TAMUG TutorTrac or just stop by Room 107A in the Jack K. Williams Library behind the Circulation Desk!

1-on-1 Tutoring:

Peer Tutors offer 30 minute sessions throughout the week for students to reserve as needed to ask specific questions about difficult course concepts and/or assigned homework problems. Students should bring their course materials, notes, and calculators. Session dates, times, and locations are posted on TAMUG TutorTrac in Howdy. Questions may be directed to learningcommons@tamug.edu.

Small Group Tutoring:

Peer Tutors hold 2-hour sessions throughout the week for students to walk-in as needed with specific questions about difficult course concepts and/or assigned homework problems. Students should bring their course materials, notes, and calculators. Session dates, times, and locations are posted on TAMUG TutorTrac in Howdy. Questions may be directed to learningcommons@tamug.edu.

Peer to Peer Services:

Free scalable learning services for students, staff, and faculty supporting writing, math, subject tutoring, research, supplemental instruction, and media discovery. These services are hosted in one-on-one, small group, and large group formats and available for appointments or walk-ins at the Library.

Supplemental Instruction:

SI sessions are peer-led, group study sessions with activities designed to cover different course topics each week. Supplemental Instructors repeat sessions three times a week so that students may attend once a week or as needed throughout the semester to stay on track or get ahead. Session dates, times, and locations are posted on TAMUG TutorTrac in Howdy. Questions may be directed to learningcommons@tamug.edu.

Writing Lab

Writing Counselors offer 30 minute, peer-to-peer writing counseling for research, organizing information, revision, editing, grammar & formatting, bibliographies, and presentations. In addition to this course work they can review your lab reports, research papers, resumes, personal essays, cover letters, business cards and more.
