Virtual Drop-In Assistance:

General drop-in assistance is available to you via Zoom at the AskAgs Help Desk! We can assist you in finding information and connecting to resources across campus. If you do not have Zoom capabilities, you can call into the virtual help desk at 877.853.5247 with meeting ID 645-791-400.

Services:

The library will have added cleaning and social distancing procedures in place to maximize student safety. Some services and spaces will be amended or unavailable at this time.

Study Rooms: Due to spacing and air circulation issues, all group study rooms will be off-limits to
customers. The one-one-one tutoring/writing lab area will be off-limits to customers. Existing Silent
Study space will be off-limits to customers. The room 126 classroom will be off-limits to customers. All
open study spaces will display QR codes to be scanned for contact tracing.

Reserves: Quiz files and supplemental materials will not be put on Reserves. Library staff will assist
faculty with digitizing files and materials to be placed on Canvas or other access. Books will be allowed
to be placed on Reserves. Library personnel will scan needed chapters or pages and the materials will be
emailed or placed on a thumb drive. Staff will follow standard copyright guidelines for all materials.

Textbook Access Program: Chapters or pages needed will be scanned and emailed to the customer or
placed on a thumb drive. Customers are allowed to receive one chapter per scan.

Interlibrary Loan: Electronic materials will be forwarded to the customer as usual. Books borrowed will
be disinfected and quarantined before and after delivery.

Magazines/Newspapers: Print serials will be temporarily discontinued. Print serials and newspapers
will not be available except on request.

Print materials: Books will be checked out according to current policies and procedures. Books that are
returned will be checked in and will be quarantined for 72 hours before being returned to the shelf.

Course Support

All sessions for Course Support, GIS Services, Guided Group Study, The Studio, & Writing Support will be held online via TAMU Zoom by appointment only. Appointments must  be made through Navigate in order to attend a virtual session. Click here for additional instructions on how to schedule via Navigate.

Students should attempt their assignment or homework problems in advance and create a list of specific questions to ask the Consultant during the session in order to get the most out of their time.

Group Assignments or Presentations: Please have one member of the group sign-up for a Studio or Writing Support appointment as you normally would in Navigate, but add a message to the Notes section of your appointment before you save it that this will be a group appointment. List the names and emails of everyone in your group in that section, too. Then we’ll have your Consultant share the Zoom link with everyone in the group via email prior to the appointment.

Completing courses remotely creates many new challenges for any student. Being out of your routine, having new distractions and demands on your time, and the need to develop new study habits are a significant challenge. Please don't struggle alone; connect with academic coaching for help in finding new strategies to finish this semester strong! Peer mentors and professional coaches are available to meet remotely. For one-on-one appointments email slc_coaching@tamug.edu or complete the referral questionnaire and an academic coach will reach out to you with further instructions on joining a meeting. Q-DROP/WITHDRAWAL

Q-Drop: In most cases, students who need to drop a class after the drop/add period will need to submit a Q-Drop Request online in Howdy from the "My Dashboard" tab under the "My Request" dropdown. Please visit the Q-Drop page for additional information.

Accomodations

As classes transition from in-person to online, you are still entitled to full access. Accommodations you used in your in-person classes might look different or, in some cases, not be necessary now, but you should expect full access. For example,

  • If you use extended test time, online test platforms can be set to provide you the extra time.
  • If you use technology to read print, it should be compatible with materials posted for your classes.
  • If you use interpreting or captioning, you should expect all audio and video material to be captioned.

International Students

There are many questions coming to our office right now about status updates, travel signature requests, and returning home. The International Student Services Office in College Station is working on a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) document to cover these questions. ISS has instructed our office to have students with specific questions to reach out to them via phone. As of this moment, they are still working in office and are able to answer phone calls at 979-845-1824.

At this time, all residence halls remain open as a home for residents, which includes having professional and student staff available on campus as a continued resource.  The department has implemented social distancing guidelines in accordance with CDC recommendations; all common areas within the residence halls are at 25% capacity, and residents are encouraged to keep a distance of 6 feet from others at all times.  Currently no guests will be allowed in the residence halls, except those pre-approved to help with their resident's move-out.
