What in your life drew you to your current field of study?

I wanted to be on an oceangoing ship, beyond the sight of land, with an awesome office view while I traveled the world. The side benefits include short commute (≈10 seconds!) and amazing scenery. The job can be complex and demanding, because nature is complex and demanding.

What do you hope your students gain from studying or working with you?

I hope to instill knowledge, responsibility and a strong safety culture.

What are you passionate about in your personal life?

I am passionate about giving back. When my schedule allows, I volunteer at my church and a local ministry working with the youth program. (Galveston Urban Ministries- Engage, Equip, Empower)
