Detailed Overview    

The purpose of this certificate is to educate and inform working professionals in a variety of fields (i.e., hospitals, ports, oil companies, etc.) of fundamental business processes to assist in their organizations for both profit and not-for-profit companies. The selection of courses reflects the most basic business processes that should be known, such as marketing, strategy, finance, and service operations management. Additionally, the Maritime Business Administration Certificate is the only one offered that will encompass the student with an education that is essential specifically to maritime entrepreneurship. 

This program is also approved for delivery via asynchronous or synchronous distance education technology.

Steps to apply    

  1. Complete a GraduateCAS application.
  2. Submit Transcripts. Upload of an unofficial transcript showing a bachelor’s or professional degree (or equivalent) awarded is required to complete your application. 
    • If admitted, students will need to send an official transcript showing a bachelor’s or professional degree (or equivalent) awarded directly from the degree-granting institution to the Admissions Office. See Transcripts and Test Scores for mailing address and/or electronic transmission instructions.
  3. Pay Application Fee. Applicants must pay the required application fee of $89 for domestic applicants or $114 for international applicants.

Only credit cards are accepted. Refunds will not be issued for any reason.

3+2 Master of Maritime Business Administration Degree

Only current students attending Texas A&M University at Galveston that are majoring in Maritime Business Administration can apply to the 3+2 Master of Maritime Business Administration and Logistics degree using this application https://www.tamug.edu/mara/pdf/MARA-3-2-Application-new.pdf.  The 3+2 applications must be turned into the Maritime Business Administration Department in CLB 221 to Jossette Chimes, the MARA business coordinator. Submission deadlines for these applications are as follows: Spring applications are due on October 1st. Fall applications are due May 1st. 

Master of Maritime Business Administration and Logistics 

All other students can apply for the thesis (research) or non-thesis (professional) track using the GraduateCAS application which can be found by clicking the "Admissions Information" box below. Non-thesis master’s students may also apply for the License Option. Please see the Graduate CAS Application Procedure by clicking the "Admissions Information" box below for detailed instructions. Submission deadlines for these applications are as follows: Spring applications are due on October 1st. Fall applications are due May 1st.
