As an Energy Professional and Entrepreneur, I work for Entergy Corporation in Strategic Portfolio Planning and own a real estate investment company, which acquires and manages properties across multiple states.

Prior to Entergy, I worked at Constellation Energy and Teleios Commodities. At Constellation Energy, an Exelon Subsidiary, I was a C&I Power Operations Analyst, where I managed internal and external customer data, developed positive working relationships, and advanced skills in the Microsoft Office Suite, among much more. While working at Teleios Commodities, an Ara Partners Subsidiary, I was an Associate Director for retail power risk management and valuation; I became a Director for retail gas risk management and valuation, both positions with the company required multiple duties and responsibilities attached to the roles.

I graduated from Rice University with a B.A. in Sociology and a Master of Maritime Administration and Logistics from Texas A&M University at Galveston. I reside in Houston with my wife and two young daughters.

What in your life drew you to your current field of study?

My current field of study or course revolves around entrepreneurship. I always had an interest in business and feel it is a part of everyday life. My path of growing in business and ownership has made me passionate about teaching others what I now know.  If I knew then when I was an undergrad, what I know now, I may have done things differently and acted sooner.  Business can provide many opportunities and freedom. All it takes is getting it right one time, for things to pay off.  We often hear people talk about what they wish they learned or had exposure to when they were in school. Now I am excited to provide information to students that I would have liked to learn while in school. Teaching has been truly fulfilling, and being able to teach others helps me continue to learn as well.

What do you hope your students gain from studying or working with you?

My hope is that students walk away with information that adds value, improves their perspective, and inspires action.

What are you passionate about in your personal life?

Family, health, and sports. I am passionate about spending time with family. We enjoy staying active.  Whether it is on a walk, doing a 5k, or a home workout, we all enjoy the time together. We work to maintain a healthy and active lifestyle. I am passionate about sports as well. Basketball was once a top focus of mine. I played in college and professionally for a couple of years.  Over the past year, I have enjoyed getting better on the golf course as it presents a new fun challenge for me.
