WAEC Scratch Card

Per the A&M catalog, applicants must submit proof of high school graduation, typically a diploma, leaving certificate, or official examination results. Students that complete the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) exam must submit a WAEC scratch card.

Some international students may see an “incomplete transcript received” in their AIS account after submitting their final high school transcript. With this message, TAMU has received your official transcript for grades 9 through 12; however, it is incomplete because we have not received your WAEC scratch card. We need the card unscratched in order to verify you have completed the equivalent of a U.S. high school diploma. Once, TAMU Admissions receives the official unscratched WAEC scratch card, they will clear the final high school transcript requirement (registration hold).

For a faster response in the future please use the “Ask a Question” section on your AIS account. The Galveston Admissions Office should be able to mail your scratch card to TAMU’s Admissions. Students can also mail or deliver it in person to the TAMU Admissions Office.

The student may mail the WAEC Scratch Card to either of the following addresses. The student may include ATTN: Tashia Cole on the address.
