Prospective Student Campus Visits

Prospective Campus Visit & Admissions Session will be available on Mondays and Fridays at 9am with a campus presentation, followed by a walking tour of campus. These visits generally last about two hours.

The campus presentation includes information about majors, traditions, co-curricular activities, campus life, admissions procedures, and financial aid. Tours showcase specific areas of interest, including classroom buildings, gathering areas, and a residence hall room.

Tours will be unavailable during New Student Conferences or University Holidays.

To schedule a GROUP TOUR, contact the group tour coordinators.

Group Tours for High School and Community College Students

Group walking tours introduce TAMUG to high-school and community college groups of 10-80 guests. Student tour guides tell visitors about life at TAMUG, the University’s history, traditions and academic programs.

Groups should expect the total visit time (excluding meals at the dining hall) to last about 1.5 to 2 hours. Group tour guests will see a sampling of campus facilities, including academic buildings, the library, and a residence hall.

From Tuesday, August 1 through Friday, September 1 we will not be giving tours at all because our offices will be relocating to a new building. When we reopen on Monday, September 4, we will be unveiling our new Visitors Center, as well as our new tour schedule. Starting in September, we will be providing group tours twice a month on Monday’s only!

Group Tours for Middle School Students

Group tours are offered only for middle schools arranging field trip activities through Texas A&M University at Galveston’s Department of Educational Outreach. We will make every effort to meet middle school budget challenges. Abbreviated field trip activities at reduced prices, e.g. shark and sea turtle biology presentations, are used to accommodate and coordinate campus tours by large middle school groups. Middle school campus tours are primarily limited to Mondays and Tuesdays. If you are interested in scheduling a middle school campus tour, please contact the Field Trip Coordinator in Educational Outreach, William Dailey, at daileyw@tamug.edu

Group Tours for Elementary School Students

While field trip opportunities are available for this age group, group tours are not. If you have a young child or young students who are enthusiastic about exploring their interests in marine-related activities/careers, please make field trip inquiries with William Dailey at daileyw@tamug.edu.  In addition to field trips, the Department of Educational Outreach offers engaging and suitable summer day camps for this age group through Sea Campus Kids. Please visit www.tamug.edu/seacamp.
