Winter Storm Uri

The February 13–17, 2021 North American winter storm, unofficially referred to as Winter Storm Uri, was a major winter and ice storm that had widespread impacts across the United States, Northern Mexico, and parts of Canada from February 13 to 17, 2021.

On Friday February 19, 2021 the Galveston County Recovery Fund (GCRF) reactivated in response to Winter Storm Uri.  They identified the Texas A&M Foundation as a key partner in addressing immediate needs stemming from the drastic weather event.

At its April 6, 2021 meeting, the GCRF approved a grant of $15,000 to be used for the purposes of providing relieve to faculty, staff and students at Texas A&M Galveston impacted by the storm.
