Use Jargon appropriately
Jargon includes the technical vocabulary that professionals, such as scientists and engineers, rely on to communicate with each other. This language is essential within the field; terms refer to specific animals and specialized processes and equipment. To specialized audiences, jargon is precise and marks professionals in the discipline. The terms are somewhat obscure and often intimidating to others.
Jargon, as a negative term refers to wordy, ponderous, inflated phrasing used by writers to make their ideas sound profound and their prose sound impressive. This is the language of bureaucrats and politicians who try to make the common sound significant.
Use professional jargon when communicating with professional audiences. Eliminate jargon which makes your writing pretentious.
