Shark Biology and Fisheries Science Lab
Research in the lab is primarily focused on the biology and ecology of bony fishes and sharks throughout different ecosystems. Our lab examines a range of topics from habitat use, movement dynamics, trophic ecology, and life history information used for conservation and sustainability of these valuable resources. We use an assorted array of tools in our studies including natural tags (stable isotopes, trace elements) and advanced technology (electronic tags, ROVs, underwater video, acoustics) to better understand fish population dynamics and behavior.
