Admission as a veteran student

For information about the admissions process, deadlines, and ways to be admitted, please visit our Admissions website.

Freshman Admissions

        1. Apply online at applytexas.org and be sure to highlight your military service in your application essays. All freshman applicants must complete essays A and B; Essay C is optional. Once admitted, be sure to submit your VA DD Form 214 and military transcript for review.

        2. A nonrefundable application fee is required.

        3. Send official high school, military, and college transcripts to TAMUG.

Transfer Admissions

        1. Apply online at applytexas.org.

        2. All applicants are required to complete Essay A.  Please include your military experience in your essay.

        3. Submit official high school, military, and college transcripts to TAMUG.

Graduate Admissions

Students seeking admission to a graduate program are encouraged to contact their specific department of interest for information concerning application requirements and deadlines.

First time benefit use at TAMUG for veteran or military student

The following is required for first time benefit use at TAMUG for veteran or military student:

    • Certificate of Eligibility letter from VA

    • DD-214 (member 4 copy) or current military orders

    • Military transcript

    • Academic degree plan

    • TAMUG Request for Certification form

    • VA-Form 22-1995 (transfer students only)

First time benefit use at TAMUG for military family or dependent

The following is required for first time benefit use at TAMUG for military family or dependent:

    • Certificate of Eligibility letter from VA

    • Academic degree plan

    • TAMUG Request for Certification form

    • VA Form 22-5495 (transfer students only)


Notice: In an effort to protect your confidential and personally identifiable information (i.e. social security number, tax information), Scholarships & Financial Aid accepts documents submitted via document upload in the Financial Aid Portal, fax, postal mail, or in-person. Documents may not be submitted via email. Please include your UIN on all of the documents submitted.
