HOW TO FILE A TAMUG WORK ORDER

 

All requests for maintenance service (whether a light bulb needs changing or your shower won’t drain) should be made at the Residence Life Office in the Residence Life Center (RLC) between Mariner Hall and Hullabaloo Hall.  DO NOT give these requests directly to maintenance staff personnel because they cannot act upon a direct request.  Work orders fall under four categories: Room Work Orders, Furniture Work Orders, Telephone/Cable Work Orders, and Internet.  Residents must fill out a different work order request for each type of request.  NOTE: Any requested repairs resulting from damage by the resident can be billed to the resident.

ROOM WORK ORDERS:

Work requests for any physical problems with your room (light bulb replacement, leaky faucets, air conditioner or door lock problems, etc.).

 

FURNITURE WORK ORDERS:

Work requests for physical problems with University assigned furniture in your room (broken hinges, missing parts, etc.).

 

Students may file Room Work Orders or Furniture Work Orders via one of the following methods:

1)     Coming to Residence Life Office and filling out the Work Order Request Form (click to see image of form).

2)     Calling Residence Life at x4445.  When you call, tell us your room number, the date of the request, and be very specific about the problem.

3)     Sending an e-mail to reslife@tamug.edu.  Please include your room number, the date of the request, and be very specific about the problem.

 

TELEPHONE/CABLE WORK ORDERS:

Work requests for telephone problems (voicemail, dial tone, phone jacks, etc.) or cable television (bad reception, cable jacks, etc.)

Students may file Telephone/Cable Work Orders via one of the following methods:

1)     Coming to Residence Life Office and filling out a Cable/Telephone Work Order Request Form (click to see image of form).

2)     Calling Residence Life at x4445.  When you call, tell us your room number, phone number, the date of the request, and be very specific about the problem.  Also, leave your voicemail box number if it is a voicemail problem.

3)     Sending an e-mail to reslife@tamug.edu.  Please include your room number, phone number, the date of the request, and be very specific about the problem.  Also, leave your voicemail box number if it is a voicemail problem.

 

 

INTERNET WORK ORDERS:

Work requests for any problems with Ethernet connections in your room.  Students may file Internet work order requests with Computing & Information Services by calling x4714.

 

 

Priority numbers will be given to all requests and those of major importance will be handled first.  Emergency problems which occur when the Residence Life Office is closed should be reported to an on-duty R.A.
