Employee of the Quarter- Fourth Quarter 2015

Kathey Walker

Kathey Walker, Senior Administrative Coordinator in Administration, has won the Employee of the Quarter award for the fourth quarter of FY 2015.

Kathey was nominated by her co-worker, Cari Bishop Smith, for the following reasons:

“Ms. Walker consistently sets a standard of excellence in the CEO office by example, whether it’s phone etiquette or taking excellent, attentive care of our guests and their immediate needs. She is forward thinking, encourages and welcomes new ideas, and is a team player. In addition to her normal University duties, she also willingly stepped in as team coordinator for our first Mardi Grad event benefitting the George P. Mitchell Society. This required long hours, well after 5:00pm. She was key in working with Tremont staff and BOV members to help make this event a huge success for our campus.”

Kathey’s department also had additional comments:

“Kathey is exemplary in conducting her many and varied duties. Her willingness to tackle the most sensitive and complex assignments is vital to the success of TAMUG’s relationships with VIPs, such as commencement social events, Board of Visitors meetings and events, and visits by the most senior TAMUS and legislative visitors. She was especially instrumental for the Mardi Grad success including her working with community volunteers. Of critical value is her ability to plan ahead looking at possible future requirements. She is most deserving of this award.”
