(10.06.07) TAMUG wins SEISA Singlehanded Championship!

This past weekend we competed at the SEISA Singlehanded Championships and won! Brad Winslett will be traveling to the singlehanded nationals in a few weeks along with Mark Hulings from UT. The singlehanded championships will be held on November 3-4 in Seattle, WA. Congratulations to Brad for the win.

(09.28.07) TAMUG wins SEISA Sloop Championship!

This past weekend we competed at the SEISA Sloop Championships and won! We will be competing at the national competition at Fort Worth Boat Club in Texas on November 16-18

We also competed in our home regatta, Troy Swetnam Memorial, 2 weeks ago and won. Check out the results on the schedule page for full reports.

(06.02.07) TAMUG at Nationals

We flew to the US Naval Academy to compete in the ISCA Team Racing and Dinghy Championships. We placed 10th of 14 in Team Racing and 14th of 18 in the Dinghy Champs. (04.08.07) SEISA Women's District Championships

Women's Champs @ TAMUG:
Congrats to our Women's Team, which placed second in the SEISA Women's District Championships. Thank you to all team members that contributed to a great regatta.

UPCOMING EVENTS:
April 14: SEISA Team Racing Champs
Our team is hosting the qualifying regatta for Team Racing Nationals. The first and second place teams will earn berths at Nationals at The Naval Academy in Annapolis. Again team attendance is mandatory.

April 22: SEISA Dinghy Champs
UT is hosting the qualifying regatta for Co-ed's on Lake Travis. The first and second place teams will earn berths at Nationals at The Naval Academy in Annapolis.


(03.26.07) Aggie Spring and Boston Dinghy Cup

Aggie Spring @ TAMU:
Robert Sparks, Alexandra Wamsley, John Colter, and Luyi Zheng traveled to College Station to compete in the Aggie Spring regatta. They placed 8th out of 11 teams.

Boston Dinghy Cup:
Hugh Haggerty, Christine Nguyen, Adrian MacGeraghty, Miki Schmidt, Christing Barbour, and Cody Macon all traveled to Boston, MA to compete in the Boston Dinghy Cup. They placed 17th out of 18 teams.


(03.05.07) Tulane and Eckerd

Garner Tullis @ Tulane:
Our Coed Team of Eric Vance, Tim Cullen John Young, and John Colter placed 8th. Our Women's Team of Christine Barbour, Jennifer Elliot, Amanda Comminos, and Merari Dominguez placed 9th.

Eckerd Intersectional:
Hugh Haggerty, Christine Nguyen, Adrian MacGeraghty placed 6th at the Eckerd intersectional in Florida this weekend.

(02.14.07) Harris Kempner Intersectional Regatta

The team of Hugh Haggerty, Christine Nguyen, Adrian MacGeraghty, Hilary Shoop, Nick Moraski, Kayleen Foster, John Young, and Luyi Zheng placed first this weekend at the Harris Kempner Regatta here in Galveston. TAMUG Maroon placed 4th, and TAMUG Pink placed 7th. Please see complete results below. Great thanks to the Dominguez family for providing an awesome lunch! Thanks are also due to Jenipher Cate, Robert Sparks, and David Valentine for providing housing to visiting teams. We greatly appreciate Kevin Gunn's expert race committee work, and finally we need to thank Coach Coleman, GBC, and our entire team for making this regatta a great success.

(02.06.07) Qualifier #1 and SEISA Annual Meeting

NEWS:
UT Spring
Hugh Haggerty, Christine Nguyen, Brad Winslett, and Miki Schmidt Placed 1st this weekend at UT. Both boats finished first in their fleets. Emory Williams, Adrian MacGeraghty, David Valentine, and Merari Dominguez placed 3rd. There were a total of 17 teams at the regatta making it the biggest SEISA regatta of the year. Congratulations to all our sailors. Complete results are posted for Qualifier #1 on the schedule page. Thank you to to the Noack Family for providing housing.

SEISA Annual Meeting
Hugh Haggerty, Miki Schmidt, and Christine Nguyen represented the team at the SEISA Annual Meeting hosted by UT. We will be hosting Women's and Team Racing District Championships this semester. UT will host Coed's. Hugh Haggerty was elected SEISA District Development Coordinator. Thank you to Miki and Christine for accompanying me.

Harris Kempner Memorial Intersectional Regatta
This weekend we will host the Harris Kempner Intersectional here at TAMUG. Since it is a home regatta, team attendance is mandatory.

ICSA Sloop North American Championship (Charleston, SC)
Brad Winslett, Emory Williams, Nick Moraski, and Scott Stanton represented us this past weekend at Sloop Nationals. This year TAMUG placed a close 5th out of 10. The gap between 2nd and 5th place was 5 points! Congratulations to all who competed.

Baylor Fall Regatta (Southern Methodist University)
Jeff Krebs, Luyi Zheng, Jeff Thomas, and Erica Freno placed 4th. Amanda Comminos, Eric Vance, Robert Sparks, and Cathy Blume placed 6th.

Back to the Bayou Regatta (University of South Alabama)
David Valentine, Kayleen Foster, Miki Schmidt, and Ben Nguyen placed 4th. Christine Barbour, Marty Morrison, Cody Macon, and Jill Noack placed 6th.

Baldwin Wood Regatta (New Orleans)
David Valentine, Tiffany Clark, Christine Barbour, and Marty Morrison placed 3rd. Congratulations to Christine, and Marty who finished 1st in their fleet! Amanda Comminos, Miki Schmidt, Eric Vance, and Cody Macon finished 9th.


(10.23.06) Kathryn Hammond at UT

Results are posted for the Kathryn Hammond Intersectional Regatta, held this weekend at UT. Christine Barbour '10, Jill Noack '09, Christine Nguyen '07, Kayleen Foster '09, Adrian MacGeraghty '06, Cody Macon '10, Ben Nguyen '10, Jeff Krebs '10, and John Young '10 represented us at the regatta.
Congratulations to both the coed and women's teams who placed 6th and 7th (of 11), respectively.


(10.16.06) Navy Fall and SMU

The team that represented us at the Navy Fall Intersectional Regatta in Annapolis, MD: Amanda Comminos '08, Adrian MacGeraghty '06, Nick Moraski '08, Miki Schmidt '09, Scott Stanton '07, Amber Tull '07, Emory Williams '10, and Brad Winslett '09 placed 16th out of 20. The team that represented us at the SMU Frozen Hate Regatta in Dallas: Johnny Mays '10, Merari Dominguez '09, Robert Sparks '10, Hilary Shoop '08, Eric Vance '08, Cathy Blume '10, John Colter '10, and Luyi Zheng '10 placed 9th out of 11. Complete results will be up on the website soon.


(10.09.06) SEISA Singlehanded Championships

Results are posted for the SEISA Singlehanded Championships held at the University of Kansas. Congratulations to Brad Winslett for winning the Men's SEISA championships. He will be representing TAMUG at the National Championships at Roger Williams University, RI on November 3rd. Scott Stanton also sailed for the Men's event. Christine Barbour, Amber Tull, and Angela Whitley sailed for the Women's event. Good job to everyone who competed for TAMUG in the championships!

(09.23.06) SEISA Sloop Championships

Results are posted for the SEISA Sloop Championships held at Fort Worth Boat Club. Congratulations to Scott Stanton, Brad Winslett, Nick Moraski, and Emory Williams who competed for TAMUG and won the SEISA Sloop Championships. They will be competing at the National Championships in Charleston, SC on November 17th.

(09.16.06) Troy Swetnam Memorial Regatta

Results are posted for the Troy Swetnam Memorial Regatta held at TAMUG and Galveston Boat Club. Each division sailed 11 races on saturday. Congratulations to TAMUG for qualifying to go to the Navy Fall Regatta in a few weeks. A good time was had by all, especially the new people who were competing in their first collegiate regatta.

The TAMUG Sailing team web site is undergoing some changes at the moment to make it more efficient. Most all of the pages are completed, so feel free to notify the webmaster if there are any broken links or missing items. Thank you.

(09.02.06) New Sailor Saturday

New Sailor Saturday took place on Saturday September 2nd. We would like to thank all of those who came out and hope that you all learned a lot while you were on and off the water. We encourage you to come to some more upcoming fall practices. Please go to the "Join the Team" page and print out and turn in the paperwork to Coach Coleman. To all who could not make it to the New Sailor Saturday, we would enjoy it if you would attend one our regular practices during the semester to see what collegiate sailing is all about. If you need directions to Teichman, please go to the directions page. See you on the water!

(05.31.06) National Championships at Charleston

The College of Charleston hosted nationals this year. Our team, consisting of Hugh Haggerty, Christine Nguyen, Scott Stanton, Amber Tull, Matthew Barrett, Mikeline Schmidt, Maureen Frerichs, David Valentine, and Adrian MacGeraghty, made a fine showing this year at team racing nationals.
