The oldest trophy in college sailing had a shifty east wind that started out 3-5 knots in the morning and built steadily through the afternoon to 12-15 at the end of race 12. BU Volunteers of Gordon Mack and Chris Love helped out with scoring and crash boat. Mike O'Conner ran the FJ line and Fran Charles ran the tech dinghy line. One breakdown, two DSQs were heard. Special thanks to Peter Fleming, Bill Upthegrove and Lisa Keith for hearing protests. Snow tonight and 6 more races manana.
Sunday's breeze did not cooperate in running the BDC. A division completed 2 races in Techs, the latter of which did not count. B and C divisions had one race abandoned in a weak northerly. The easterly filled long enough to complete race 13 in B and C. The breeze then went into a death spiral. Racing was called off for the day at 1:30pm. Roger Williams hung on to win their second consecutive regatta on the river by a mere ten points over a strong URI team. Many thanks to the teams from MIT, Harvard and BU for helping with the event.
