REGATTA HIGHLIGHTS:
Saturday was ridiculously cold (high of 60) for Austin, TX in May. First
gun was delayed because of thunderstorms. The storms cleared by 10:30 and
the first race started at 11:00. The wind was from the north at 18 –
20kts gusting 25kts. Goldcup courses were sailed in all of the 14 races. 1
redress was filed.
Sunday was a beautiful day with blue sky, temperatures in the mid 70‘s
and a north wind around 12kts. First gun was at 10:00 and 6 races were sailed
on goldcup courses to complete the rotation. 3 protests were filed.
Thanks to Vic Manning and Gail Bernstein for their work as Race Committee and
Protest Committee, and also the UT team for taking care of all the shore work
