Safety is the responsibility of all administrative, faculty, staff and students employed by or attending class at Texas A&M University at Galveston. A safety oriented attitude which leads to a safe working environment begins at the top administrative level and filters down to entry level positions. All employees are empowered to authoritatively make decisions and take independent actions that will reduce his or her personal risk of injury or illness and thus promote a safe working environment. Faculty and supervisors of students and staff shall instill safe work ethics in the laboratories and work areas. The Administrations shall provide encouragement and leadership in all areas of safety and shall expeditiously address safety issues identified by students, faculty and staff. Through this conscientious and shared responsibility, Texas A&M University at Galveston sets the foundation for a safe work environment.
