Excerpts from Email from Rolando Ramos 7/26/2004
Mr. Brown,
I was just checking on what was new at TAMUG and noticed the new
details on the Rudy T Scholarship. I was a recipient of the
scholarship and graduated from Texas A&M University at Galveston in
1997. I remember your involvement way back when, seems like so long
ago. It is so very good to know the Rudy T Scholarship continues to
help others.
For the past six years I have been working for an international
logistics company. I have recently returned from a year assignment
in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Before then, I also lived for about eight
months in Venezuela and about two years in New Jersey. Since last
December, I have taken on duties at our Miami office as General
Manager. I expect to conclude this assignment at the end of the year
when my wife Nubia (we married one year ago) and I will return to
Houston to maybe begin to settle down and start a family.
I am very thankful for the assistance from Rudy T and what it
allowed me to accomplish. If you have a chance, please pass word to
Mr. Tomjanovich and his wife about the great selfless service they
are doing. With their help, I was able to complete my studies, which
have helped me tremendously in my professional career and personal
life.
Thank you,
Roland Ramos
