Traditional Student Residence Halls

Atlantic/Pacific Halls

The Office of Residence Life is located in Pacific Hall in suite 5110B.

These two residence halls opened Fall 2012 and can house 294 students in each hall.  These buildings feature interior hallways and several study and social spaces on every floor. Each building has a large central lobby including a kitchenette (stove, oven, sink) for student use. The buildings enclose a center outdoor area perfect for socializing, impromptu Frisbee, or outdoor movies. Each suite will house four students, with two students in a room. Each suite will have a small private study area for the suitemates to share, located outside bedrooms. Bathrooms will also be located outside of student rooms, and shared by the suite.


Hullabaloo/Oceans Hall

Over 250 students live in our two-story residence hall known as Hullabaloo and three-story residence hall known as Oceans Hall. The interior corridors make it very easy for residents to get to know all of their neighbors. Students vary from first-year to seniors and there is a broad variety of majors living in Hullabaloo and Oceans. Students are paired two per room. Each room has a private balcony and shares a bathroom with one other room. Laundry facilities are provided on the main floor of the building.


Albatross/Polaris Hall

Albatross and Polaris Hall are resereved for single and double occupancy rooms for our students. These efficiency apartment style residence halls are great addition to the variety of on campus living options available to students. Each hall includes upper and under-class men and women.These buildings feature a entertainment room, laundry facilites, private baths for each room (two students to a room) as well as kitchenettes including: a refrigerator and a two-burner electric stove-top.

Housing Requirements & Application process

All students are required to live in on-campus housing until they are 21 years old.   There are approved circumstances where students may be eligible to live off campus, such as living with a parent in the Galveston Community or if they turn 21 before the first day of classes.  To learn more about the process to live off-campus and how to apply for off-campus exemptions can be found here.

New TAMUG students will apply for housing using our online application.  Before you fill out your housing application, please ensure that you have your payment information ready.  Our application and payment process is completed entirely online.  If you have any trouble or need assistance with your application, please contact Residence Life at 409-740-4445, and a staff member will be able to assist you.
