Meter News: What You Should Know
The University is faced with rising
utility costs for electric, water and gas. By working together to
support the "REDUCE THE JUICE" campaign, the campus as a whole
can
help to alleviate some additional utility costs by lowering our utility
usage. This campaign needs students, faculty and staff to all work
together in helping to REDUCE THE JUICE campus-wide.
In an effort to rally the campus, the
University has implemented a REDUCE THE JUICE campaign and has
established an Energy Policy for buildings across campus. The
Energy Policy specifies temperatures for heating and cooling as well as
other guidelines. As a result, the University is beefing up its
efforts to track utility consumption and crack down on buildings that
have an above average utility appetite. In the future, the
University will host an energy reduction competition among campus
buildings and residence halls.
