Texas A&M Galveston partners with Copenhagen Business School

Signing of MOA(Galveston, Texas—January 16, 2015) — Texas A&M University at Galveston and the Copenhagen Business School in Denmark have signed a Memorandum of Agreement that will allow between 15 and 25 students to attend classes at each university.

“This is a great honor for the Texas A&M Galveston maritime business program” said Rear Admiral Robert Smith III, chief executive officer of Texas A&M University at Galveston.  “The ability to partner with such a prestigious school as the Copenhagen Business School demonstrates the global reach the Texas A&M Galveston business program has achieved.  This raises the value of the degree and the increased benefits to our student’s future will be significant.”

Copenhagen Business School was established in 1917 and became integrated as an institution of higher education in the Danish education system in 1965.  Today, CBS is regulated by the Danish Ministry of Science, Innovation and Higher Education.  It is one of the largest business schools in Europe with close to 20,000 students and offers world-class research-based degree programs at undergraduate, graduate and PhD levels as well as executive and other post experience programs.

“Future students can look forward to an even stronger study program in a high-quality international environment with good opportunities for building strong, international networks. We look forward to offering the maritime sector new, skilled students with international university experience and a global mindset,” says Per Holten-Andersen, President of the Copenhagen Business School.

Since 2000, CBS has been accredited by EQUIS, AMBA (Association of MBAs) and AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) thus acquiring a “triple crown” acknowledgement only shared by 59 business schools worldwide.
