Remembering Roger Stone

June 8, 2008

A Message from the Leaders of Texas A&M University at Galveston and UTMB

June 8, 2008, will forever live in many of our minds as the day we learned of the loss of Roger Stone. He served both Texas A&M University at Galveston and the University of Texas Medical Branch admirably. Today we find our campuses united, not only in grief, but also in gratitude for having known such an outstanding colleague, devoted mentor and cherished friend.

While Roger died a hero, we should never forget that he lived to make life better for his friends, his family, his co-workers and his students. For this reason, TAMUG and UTMB wish to come together in a celebration of Roger’s life and his contributions to our respective university communities. We hope you can join us on Monday, August 4, from 4 to 6 p.m. in William C. Levin Hall Dining Room, 11th and Market Streets on the UTMB campus. Parking will be available in the surface lots at 11th and Market.

The reception will feature remembrances from some of those who knew Roger best, and it will afford us all an opportunity to share with his family just how special he was to, not one, but two great Texas institutions.

We hope to see you on August 4.
