Texas A&M University at Galveston Receives Favorable
Rankings
Recent rankings by U.S. News & World Report and
Princeton Review include Texas A&M University at Galveston
among the nation's top colleges in the United States for the
2006 school year.
Both surveys are complied by using an audience of peers,
parents and students, as well as university demographics, to
establish a list of the best colleges in the country.
Princeton Review has selected Texas A&M University at
Galveston as one of 122 schools receiving the "Best in the
West" designation. Only eight public colleges in Texas are
included in the listing. The listing is detailed in the Best
Colleges: Region by Region section of PrincetonReview.com.
Texas A&M University at Galveston's engineering programs are
ranked in the top 50 best programs by U.S. News & World
Report "Best Colleges" edition. The listing compares
undergraduate colleges whose highest degrees are bachelor's
or master's degrees. TAMUG is tied for 24th in the United
States compared to other public colleges in the group.
Both updates of best college distinctions generate a surge
of attention, awareness and discussion of colleges featured
as the best in the nation, from both the news media and the
highly coveted audience of parents and students, school
officials note.
