Winter Texans Visit TAMUG

More than forty Winter Texans visited the Texas A&M University at Galveston campus on Friday, February 8, 2008 to learn about life as a cadet in the Texas Maritime Academy.

The group, which is made up of people who spend the winter months in the Galveston area rather than at their homes in the North, enjoyed presentations and tours.

Cadet Gabriel Ashworth, Dr. R. Bowen Loftin, RADM Allen Worley, Captain Leslie "Buddy" Blackburn, and Cadet Drew McKinney spoke to the group. The group was treated to a slide presentation featuring photographs from the Summer 2007 Cruise. After the presentations, the Winter Texans took tours of the simulator and training ship.  For many this was their first visit to the TAMUG Campus.

Cadets Drew McKinney, Chris Rabalais, Kathryn Perry, Jared Reaves, Kenneth Wethington, Adam Wilson, Thomas Nicely, and Matthew White assisted with the tours.
