O-Week

In-coming Freshman are enjoying their first experiences as members of the Texas Maritime Academy Corps of Cadets, Spirit Program and NROTC.  One-hundred and fourteen students from around the country have come to the Texas A&M University at Galveston Campus to participate in O-Week.  O-Week immerses the students into their new life as cadets.  They learn  how to wear a uniform, basic military courtesies and customs, how to stand a safety and security watch on the ship, basic seamanship and traditions of the University and the Academy.

 

It is designed to prepare them mentally and physically for life in the Texas Maritime Academy, Spirit Program and NROTC.
