Constitution Day Forum

Constitution Day - September 17 - commemorates the date in 1787 that the Constitutional Convention adjourned from its long months of deliberation at the State House in Philadelphia (Independence Hall), after having completed the arduous and historic task of crafting the United States Constitution.

Texas A&M University at Galveston will host a Constitution Day Forum on September 17, 2007 at 6 p.m. in CLB 100.  Students, faculty, staff, and the general public are invited to attend.

Mr. John Carhart and Mr. M.T. Waddell will lead discussions and answer questions pertaining to contemporary constitutional issues.

On May 24, 2005, the Assistant Deputy Secretary for Innovation and Improvement in the U.S. Department of Education announced that, pursuant to legislation passed by Congress, educational institutions receiving federal funding are required to hold an educational program pertaining to the United States Constitution on September 17 of each year.
