Cheju University Students Visit TAMUG

Texas A&M University at Galveston recently hosted students from Cheju National University.  The students are all marine science, biology or engineering students.  While here they are studying coastal processes (geology and biology) and geographic information systems (GIS) as part of the International Marine Science Program.  This program is an academic exchange program between the two universities.  The program foster joint learning and research projects between the two universities in the areas of engineering and ocean sciences.

Cheju National University is located on the island of Jeju off of the southern tip of South Korea, a one hour flight from Seoul.  The island is located almost equidistant from Seoul, Shanghai and Hiroshima.  The programs of the Ocean Sciences School of the university very closely match those at Texas A&M University at Galveston

As part of their visit, the students toured the USTS Texas Clipper.
