Texas A&M University at Galveston Summer Commencement

 

       Galveston, TexasTexas A&M University at Galveston hosted the 2007 Summer Commencement Exercises on Saturday, August 11, 2007 on the Mitchell Campus of Texas A&M University at Galveston. Twenty-three students received their diplomas during the ceremony.

      Students received degrees as follows:
 

      Bachelor of Arts in Maritime StudiesGarrett Crowell.
 

      Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology - Jennifer Atchison and Heather Seiler.
 

      Bachelor of Science in Marine Engineering Technology - Clark Maxwell.
 

      Bachelor of Science in Marine Fisheries - David Lindsey
 

      Bachelor of Science in Marine Transportation - John Seckman and Scott Stanton.
 

      Bachelor of Science in Maritime Administration - Brian Borski, Colt Campbell, Matthew Dykes, Ertunc Ergun, Jeremy Evans, Matthew Galpert, Bradley Gordy, Oliver Neel, Cynthia Powell, Bridget Shannon, Rachael Ward, and D'yani Wheatley.

Bachelor of Arts in Ocean and Coastal Resources - Brandon Mattox.
 

      The Commencement address was delivered by Dr. Leo Sayavedra, Special Advisor to the Chancellor of the Texas A&M University System. Mr. Lupe Fraga, a member of the Board of Regents of the Texas A&M University System congratulated the students and on behalf of the board authorized the conferring of the degrees as recommended.  Ms. Julie Nelson, Deputy Maritime Administrator, conveyed greetings and congratulations on behalf of the White House and the Department of Transportation.  Mr. Marty Holmes of the Association of Former Students inducted the graduates into the Association. 

     LCDR David Berliner, Executive Officer, Marine Safety, of the U.S. Coast Guard presented licenses to three cadets; Clark Maxwell, John Seckman, and Scott Stanton.  LT David Daigle of the United States Navy administered the oath to Ensign Matthew Dykes.  Dr. R. Bowen Loftin, Vice President and CEO of Texas A&M University at Galveston conferred the degrees.
