PRINCE WILLIAM SOUND
> Back to Gulf of Alaska <
Using the numerical wave model SWAN,
36 hour (1.5 day) predictions of the wave conditions using WRF
wind-fields (courtesy AOOS) for Prince
William Sound are made once a day.
The wave forecasts using WRF
wind-fields are generally available before 12 GMT everyday with
forecast start time of 12 GMT.
Hs links provide
plots of Significant Wave Heights (m) along with plots of
input Wind Directions (scaled by the input Wind Speed).
Tp links provide
plots of Peak Wave Periods (sec) along with plots of Peak Wave
Directions (scaled by the Significant Wave Height).
Sd links provide
plots of Stokes drift Directions (scaled by the drift velocity).
Predicted wave conditions
