COOK INLET FORECASTS

Using the SWAN wave model, 36 hour (1.5 day) forecasts of the wave conditions using WRF wind-fields (courtesy AOOS) for Cook Inlet are made twice a day before 00 GMT and 12 GMT.

The wave forecasts using WRF wind-fields are generally available before 00 GMT and 12 GMT everyday with forecast start time of 00 GMT and 12 GMT respectively.

Forecasts are provided for the entire Cook Inlet region as well as for nested domains (Kachemak Bay and Upper Cook Inlet) shown below.
