Cory Froelich is the Technical Laboratory Coordinator in the Department of Maritime Systems Engineering. Cory joined TAMUG in November of 2002 after spending the previous two years at NASA’s Johnson Space Center working for Lockheed Martin in the Energy Systems Test Area as a Data Acquisition/Verification Technician. Mr. Froelich worked for Applied Materials in Austin, Texas from 1999 to 2000, assembling control modules for computer chip production machines. He worked for Moody Gardens from 1997 to 1998 as an audio/video technician. From 1995 to 1997, he worked for the USDA, first as an Americorp team leader on marsh restoration projects then as the site manager for a 1600 foot oyster reef project.

While taking college courses here at TAMUG he worked in the computer center as a student computer technician and at the National Marine Fisheries Service as a member of the Sea Turtle Stranding Network.
His duties for the MASE Department are keeping the MASE lab equipment operating, replacing or upgrading equipment as needed, making sure the computers in the engineering building stay updated, assisting faculty with setting up labs or field experiments, and maintaining the MASE website. He has an open door policy and will be happy to help students or faculty whenever he can.

Mr. Froelich received a B.S. in Marine Biology from TAMUG in December 1994. He received a R.O.V. (remotely operated vehicle) technician certification from the R.O.V. Institute in 1999. He received his open water diving certification in October 1992. He achieved the rank of Godan and received his teaching license in Bujinkan Ninpo Taijutsu in December 2002. In his spare time, Mr. Froelich teaches Martial Arts classes twice a week out of his home. He enjoys camping, scuba diving, and paintball.
