MASE Professional Societies

Students on campus have chapters here at TAMUG under the Engineering Council for many outstanding professional societies.  The students have the opportunity to be involved with and compete in various competitions such as the concrete canoe competition and the human powered submarine competition!

ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers)

Faculty Advisor: Raresh Pascali  rpascali@tamug.edu

ASME Overview:  (from TAMUG ASME website)

Mechanical engineers are men and women who design, develop, and manufacture machines that produce, transmit, or use power. Wherever machines are produced or used, there are mechanical engineers. They play a pivotal role in nearly everything that makes life typical.  From the seemingly simple object like a doorknob to complex robots and spacecraft, there is hardly an area of everyday life that hasn't been influenced by a mechanical engineer somewhere along the path from invention to installation.

Central to these mechanical engineers is ASME international, one of the world's largest engineering societies dedicated to ensuring that mechanical engineers worldwide are up-to-date, safety conscious, and committed it improving the technical well-being of the world
