Elroy Bishop was born in Mobile, Alabama. He grew up in Galveston and attended Galveston College 1965-1969 and received a degree in mechanical drafting. After some civil engineering work he branched off into chemical engineering and has extensive experience in piping and integrated refinery diagrams. With the advent of desktop CAD programs, he also attended Alvin Community College and took courses in AutoCAD and similar packages. Since then he has worked for many different firms as a mechanical draftsman and CAD specialist – a 12-year stint in Hawaii (from 1996-2006) was included in this, as well as work with PDS (Plant Design System) software. He is teaching ENGR 111.
