Minors

Chemistry and Geology minor programs are available to provide a concentration of prescribed courses for focus on a discipline area.  Minors require 15-18 hours with a minimum of 6 in residence at the 300-400 level.  The minor program is recognized on the transcript after graduation, but not on the diploma. 

The Chemistry minor consists of the 16 required hours in the MARS curriculum (Freshman and Organic) plus six hours of analytical and environmental chemistry. 

The Geology minor consists of the required physical geology plus 12 additional hours chosen from:  Geochemistry, Petroleum Geology, Geophysics, Paleontology, Coastal Processes and Stratigraphy and Sedimentation.
